With the evident growth and healthy levels of activity of our parish community, the urgent need to plan for the expansion of our worship facilities became a priority.
A Parish Building Committee was assembled to find ways of addressing the needs of Good Shepherd. Prayerfully and diligently, the Parish Building Committee began to formulate a plan to meet the building needs of Good Shepherd. The result of the work done by the Parish Building Committee led to the proposal to build our permanent church building and convert the current worship space into a multi-purpose facility.
Conferring with ministry groups, and conducting Town Hall and Advisory Committee meetings, the Parish Building Committee began assembling the plans which will adequately address the many needs of Good Shepherd. In February 2007, after months of intensive planning and design reviews, the Building Committee and Parish, received formal approval from the Diocese of Sacramento to move forward with our building plans.
During the past twelve months, the Parish Building Committee selected HGA Architects to guide the development of the designs for the permanent church and the conversion of the current worship space into a multi-purpose facility.
The estimated cost is $9.4 million and will be raised through three phases of fundraising over the next ten to twelve years.
